Bonsai World 2011 was a National Bonsai Show hosted by the Sussex Bonsai Group and held at the K2 Leisure Centre, Crawley, West Sussex, RH11 9BQ on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September 2011.

Leading Bonsai Artists, Marc Nöelanders, John Armitage, Ken Norman and Rammon Hamers, held demonstrations over the weekend, together with workshops from Marc and John.

We were pleased to welcome various Japanese Clubs and Societies, who putt on several displays over the weekend. These included a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony, talk on Bushido and Shinto and a presentation on Kimonos by Akemi Solloway , an illustrated talk on The History of Japanese Gardens, Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) by the Surrey Sogetsu Group - display, demo and have a go, and Chinese Brush Painting by Jane Dwight.

Displays from Seishin-Iaido the art of drawing and using a Japanese Samurai sword, together with Aikido demonstrations from Mushin Juku Dojo were performed over both days.

Both Rhino Rock and Four Seasons constructed a beautiful Japanese Garden for our event.

    Bonsai World 2013

Sussex Bonsai Group are now preparing for Bonsai World 2013, which again will be held at the K2 Leisure Centre in Crawley, West Sussex, RH11 9BQ.  It will be held on the 10th and 11th August 2013, so please make a note in next year's diary.
